just took up some old carpet at the allotmant and found, under 2 seperate pieces, bee nests, one lot are bumble bees, the other look like bumble bees but are more orangey, I ran for my life and havent gone back yet
do you think they will move on now they have been disturbed, or will I need to do something. The kids play around at the allotment while i'm working so theres no way they can stay.

dont panic, if both are the big fat bees neither will sting you or the kids . if the nest is left exposed something else will come allong and eat the bees or a cold night may kill them off. personally i would cover them back up, leaving an entrance for the bees. they do a lot of pollinating .
yes fat bees, I thought they would sting if they were angry, i'm not sure, think i still want rid of them, kids have a habit of looking under things for woodlice and frogs, i'm amazed we havent found them already. I bet they would sting a chubby little hand that tried to pick them up?
