Hi all

Following on from the post about tomatoes below.....

Is it the same for peppers? i.e. should one wait for the flowers or get em in the tubs now?

(Hark at me I'll be buying corgis next)

Thanks

Hi David....peppers are something I have grown before so feel I can give an answer. I've only grown from a bought plant never from seed....even so plants were relatively small....no flowers.
Mine would have been in their tubs by now flowers or not, bearing in mind I am South-East I suppose.
The only initial problem I had with them was a bug of some kind eating away the leaves. I sprayed with a washing-up liquid solution (of course this was before the Oraganic Bug Spray came to my notice  ) but still no go...in fact lost a couple of plants altogether. So I used something called the Bug Clear Gun, and only had to use it the once.
They romped away after that.

Best wishes,

Get 'em in! I don't understand the need to wait until you see the flowers. I grow mine in eight-inch pots in the greenhouse. They were put in those pots when they were three or four inches high and they are now flowering and starting to set fruit.
Also, if you're growing yours outside, the risk of frost is over now, and they should really enjoy the sunshine we're having and are due to have for at least the next few days.
