I think it's foxglove. Are the leaves slightly fuzzy and the roots pretty shallow? The seeds of the flowers are thrown everywhere. Doesn't do much the first year, but second year will send out a big flower spike.

Hi Peter,
Could be Borage and it could be one of the Mercury variety of weed and having just dealt with a load of Mint cuttings I kind of think it could be as Spud says.
