I am on holiday in Switzerland and noticed the slugs are out all day here. Big black ones so very easy to see. They are all over the paths. How much easier life would be if ours back in the U.K. were so easy to spot !

This may sound a daft question, but are you actually up in the mountains? Reason I ask is because we often see black slugs on mountain paths all over the UK so I don't think it necessarily means that they don't also have the nasties in their veg patches!

Happy mouse-
Why are you posting on here if you are on your holiday?
The slugs were out in their millions last night in my garden. :?

Back home now. We had an internet connection in our chalet - handy for checking the weather to save lugging coats around all day - fantastic weather - sunburnt. Lots of vegetable gardens seen there - all VERY neat and tidy. I have never seen slugs out in the day in the U.K

Chalet is self catering and has a website www.swiss-apartment.com Highly recommend. Owners live in the U.K. They let the cows loose on the mountains in June so if you want to see the wildflowers before the cows eat them May is ideal. If you grow grapes you would love the vineyards and winetasting. Best holiday we have ever had. Loved every minute. Not as expensive as people say.
