Lovely day down here Diane wasn't it?
And I noted so many birds making friends as well! It would be weird if this was Spring starting though weather wise. Could catch out fledglings & frog spawn. Even if it doesn't, would be well early, but invited by us growers at least! Fingers crossed then, a good Summer in the making maybe? Or maybe not if we have to keep up the watering 2 months earlier!

I noticed yesterday that the road signs were out already locally warning motorists to drive carefully at one of the points where amphibians cross the toad.
No spawn as yet in our pond at home or in the wildlife pool on our plot

No frogspawn yet here but I noticed that the pond had something stirring yesterday in the warm sunshine so shouldn't be long.

Checked today but no signs of anything yet. I declare Diane the winner!
I have't seen the heron flying around yet checking out local garden ponds. That's a sure sign the frogs are around again.
Need to put a covering back over the pond. Last year it gobbled up two frogs in full view before I had a chance to get out and shoo it off. He rises much earlier in the morning than I do !

I would leave it Geoff, let nature take its course.
Soon as it senses others are around it will emerge.

Not sure when I might croak, what with having a permanent frog in the throat.
