In your shed

So how long do you spend in your garden shed? Is it just to grab tools and run or do you sit in it and make tea and read the paper and while away the hours? I can't even get in mine, there is too much piled up now it needs a muck out.

All depends on which shed, I have five st the allotment and two in the garden, plus the greenhouse.

Three of the allotment ones are in a row and resemble portaloos in overall dimensions, but shrunk a bit. I could stand in a slight crouch in any of the three if I removed their contents.
Four is a corrugated metal one, very nice with a me-made wooden floor, battery led light, long shelf, chair and no headroom. I can hide from the weather there.
Five is precast concrete and comes with the job of site agent, about eight foot square and roomy but at the far end of the site, while my plot with the other four on it is halfway up.
Greenhouse has power and a stool to match the full length one side staging.
Home shed one is tools and firewood, jammed solid.
Home shed two is me-built twelve by eight, wirh power and is my workshop. Workbench with wood and metal vice, etc, etc

grab and run for us! We eat lunch next to the pond when its warm enough, or in the very large greenhouse when it's not!

We usually sit outside the shed we have a cheap gazebo which has been strengthened by using 6 x 1 inch timber screwed around the top of the side frames and covered it with a plastic tarpaulin then I screwed it to the shed I've got the timber all ready to build a proper pagoda when the present one collapses in the gales

My shed is just for sitting out the rain showers and storing the tools & stuff. I rarely sit down at lottie and have drinks & snacks on the hoof, but have my plastic table & chairs by the side when 'entertaining'.

My neighbour has 2 sheds, one used much like mine but they have decked out a kitchen in the other one. All built from scratch with some old cupboards, a proper sink, but with a bucket under it, gas 3 ring hob, matching canisters & niceties, and even a pull down table & stools, with a nice double window looking down the plot with cute gingham tie back curtains.

Can't wait for Pawty to post a pic of her sheds!

Wow, now that's what I call a shed - can't compete with our 4'x6' one, just used for the storage of tools and a p*** bucket!

Alas no shed or greenhouse. Only a Perspex roof covered alleyway between house wall and neighbour's boundary fence which is north facing and partly exposed to the elements although it does have a recycled glass door at one end. Full of garden tools, pot, compost etc so very much a working area.
Would love a nice neat greenhouse where I could retreat to on a windy or even wet day where I could sit down with a cup of tea, read a book or listen to the radio while enjoying hearing the weather rage around outside. Somehow being insulated against it indoors isn't quite so exciting! .

Mine is 4'x4' made of 1 inch ply. So everything is reachable from the door. Though I now wish I had a larger shed.
