Was thinking of being scattered under tree at a Woodland Burial site (when the time comes) - until I discovered the cost  So now I'm growing my own tree - not that I'm a tight git or anything! So far I've grown a Monkey Puzzle tree (very slow)...and have seedlings of Persian Silk Tree and Spindle. Now all I have to do is to stay alive long enough for them to be proper tree size. I've not long had my bus pass so hopefully they'll be big enough by the time they're needed. Our local Woodland Burial site says most of their "native British trees" are imported from Holland anyway so I guess mine are bound to be more authentic. My seeds are locally sourced.

I'm going on the plot, at least my ashes are. Some will remember the raised beds I built. That's my future home

Dad said I could chuck him in the compost heap! I actually sprinkled his ashes (more like coarse bone meal) around his favourite rose and on the graves of his beloved dogs. I still imagine I can smell a whiff of his pipe smoke when I'm walking round the garden and say hello Dad.

PP

is the compost heap smoking, it could be his pipe.

30 years is plenty long enough for a serious tree to grow!

Hope your spindle tree turns out as nice as mine is this week.
