Help please!
I haven't been able to get to the lotty for a few weeks, however given the rain, figured most things already planted would be OK. I went today and some of (not all) my shallots look like leaves have died or a bit yellow , although I think are still alive - picture below. Is this lack of nutrient, dry, frost, heat.....? And how can I make them better?

Based purely upon what the ground looks like I would suggest your problem is water logged soil, or at least far too damp for onions, shallot or garlic.
The danger when people start to believe their own publicity is that they often fall off their own ego.
At least travelling under the guise of the Pa Snip Enterprise gives me an excuse for appearing to be on another planet

Your ground looks very, very moist, are they drowning & not getting enough air around the roots. Wonder if the damp has encouraged onion white rot, it is a fungus? You may need to pull one & check the roots, RHS site says symptoms are yellowing & wilting.
Wait until someone more experienced replies though - could be way off the mark.

Hi sorry, should have said - just watered! Anything but water logged! They're in a raised bed which was filled with compost last year. Very good drainage. Had to put them in a raised bed in area not been used for onions before as I suffered with a bit of onion rot on another part of the allotment last year.
