Beautiful at present. They are a few weeks behind us - more than we expected. The heathers and spring flowers are excellent and they are getting things together on the general design and planning. We went to a plant sale last year which was well worth the visit.

Thanks. We go to both the Spring and Autumn sales every year but have thought they were going off a bit. They've changed things this year and made it a weekend instead of a day so we are going Saturday. Had wondered if the recent frosts had got to them but it sounds like they are OK.

In your face Tulips and a nice Rhododendron at Harlow Carr. Spent too much at the plant fair!

Splendid sight. There is generally nothing subtle about tulips is there?
Par for the course being tempted to open wide one's wallet on such occasions!

I am glad you enjoyed it Geoff. I think you should have had better weather than we did - didn't stop our enjoyment though.

You really do have to have loads of tulips to have a great display! However I have just a few, (a few less now as dog decided she wanted to see what the neighbour was doing today & trod all over them), anyway the few I did have were pleasing to see. I have the red & yellow theme as well & seeing that picture is inspiring, but to get a collection to reach that display may take a decade or so!

If you want to replicate it here is a clue - some still to come I think. I get hay fever from Hyacinths and suffered a bit waiting for people to move and the sun to come out but must admit they were pretty impressive, hate to think of the cost.

I'm glad you've had a good day. I was going to go but the hail and rain put me off and I don't really need any more plants at the moment. I hope it was better in Harrogate. I enjoy Harlow Carr at all times of the year must go again soon.

I read as much as I can on kindle but still like paper magazines.

Not been able to read a magazine on kindle as they do not seem to be supported, even local library do not support Kindle.

I load reference sheets that have been down loaded onto Kindle for quick reference.
Example: Just started composting so loaded the making compost sheet, when I want to know what category an item is in it’s there.

Some electronic benefits are you can search easier, less clutter than paper & cheaper delivery.

Some paper benefits are you can make notes on the actually page, pass on to others & keep postman/shop assistant employed.

In our house hold there is a 50/50 divide, Er indoors likes to read paper books whilst I am a kindle fan.
