Good luck to you both Westi and Pawty. It is often very rewarding to go with your feelings and take on a new challenge. I was 50 when I changed my job completely and looking back I wish I'd done it a couple of times previously.
Must be a lot warmer down there Pawty, I can't grow Madeleine angevine outdoors and get a crop up here

Oh Pawty!
You're close to me Pawty! Is it one of the ones in / near the New Forest? Had some smashing wine from them! My favourite find is a garden shop in Brokenhurst that does have a newish vineyard of their own, but their wee farm shop sells wine from all around the area - double mark up obviously, but really good (& honest) at describing the wine taste & character that means you avoid a duffin!

Forgot to add & don't want to jinx it - Interview 09.30 this Wednesday! I'm apparently the only candidate that fits the job description & person spec - mine to loose then? EEEK!
I have brain ache - why does the government bring in all these new policies? Feels good in a strange way to know I can still remember things, doesn't happen at home - still trying to find the garage keys! Must be all the covert learning from growing veg!

Pawty, Madeleine Angevine and Kernling certainly grow very well in Somerset, both varieties make an excellent wine a couple of miles from me.

One of my daughters had conveyed exactly the same message as you Westi, as nurse/manager she was always busy fighting either with staff who either didn't care enough or were just damn-lazy. Then the fight to get the tools to work with.
She has now taken a specialist autonomous post and appears much happier.
A few years ago until I made a formal complaint thought that "Nil by mouth" went on until you dehydrated or starved to death whilst the 'list' was juggled. At the time I was told in confidence that this hospital was 15 years behind English hospitals.
Well they didn't even do that fifteen years ago,
In most parts of EU countries they keep patients hydrated with a drip whilst wasting for surgery.

How are you supposed to start and maintain a healthy lifestyle if it completely removes a wine lover’s reason to live?

I couldn't say....... But if it is, I'm sure the owners would be very pleased to know their wine is described as excellent! It's a very small world we live in.

Hi Richard
Never found the garage keys so got a friend to drill out lock & put on a hinge thing & mega padlock!
On another note though - I got the job! I am now the Case Facilitator for Adult Safeguarding - well from April! Feedback said impressed with the reading & preparation for the role (obviously helped by the constant thumbing through seed catalogues), able to transfer the information into actual scenarios (transferring the blurb on said catalogues to my erratic gardening techniques), fully realises the frustrations and challenges of the role (weather dependent), empathetic and good communication throughout interview (our wee forum & sharing successes & failures).
There you go - you guys are all a wee part of my success! Thank you hugely!

Well done.
Now having achieved the goal are you going to turn it down

The danger when people start to believe their own publicity is that they often fall off their own ego.
At least travelling under the guise of the Pa Snip Enterprise gives me an excuse for appearing to be on another planet
YAY Well done
hope you enjoy your new job
