Don't mention fishing ,had an appointment at the hospital on Tuesday the first since my heart attack everything looks ok I was told it's ok for me to fly but when I asked is it ok to go fishing on our boat I got a knock back nothing I said would change her mind what made it worse was the smile on my wife's face, we are having a good cod run this year in the Mersey and I can not participate

I've been fishing a grand total of 3 times in my life, will never go again (proper fishing, not survival fishing, I love that)

First time, I got pulled in the water by a bird that dived for the fish as I pulled it out the water...
Second time, I ended up in A&E with a fishing hook through my hand
third time, Again A&E but this time with fish scales in my hand. Fish dont like being pulled out the water and grabbed by an overly enthusiastic 15 year old ...

Usually in December my leeks are fine in the ground but this year they're rotting all too soon. I was going to pull them up and make leek, potato and parsnip soup, but Mrs N says there's no room in the freezer until after Christmas! :(

Yesterday at the big house, i mowed and edged the lawns, while looking at flowering aconites, snowdrops, daffs and in the borders there was a wonderful delphinium.....a funny old year.

Certainly is, we spotted daffodils out yesterday.

Some of my onions sets (which I planted late) are far too advanced, as are some shallots and some garlic
