OH. I have just come back from a very nice Sunday lunch we had at a pub. There was a group of 22 of us and we had a real old laugh, just what i needed to re-charge my batteries.

OH. Funny you mentioned the extra pint. I found after three pints of cider they had improved no end. Mind you the ref was rubbish.

Monika. I too have tried various Leeks over the years.I don't think any of them can beat "MUSSELBURGH" for reliability.

I've not managed to do much work down the plot since my heart attack I've been down a few times but only feed the chickens and pull a bit of veg, today I've spent an hour or so done a bit of tidying up and pulled a few weeds , I am surprised at how things are growing despite the lack of attention ,sprouts, cabbage,Leeks, spinach, broccoli, snowball turnips, chard, parsnips, even lettuce are all growing well but the packchoy has gone to seed and the chickens are laying well I think I've been lucky with it all

Afternoon Peter, well done for standing up to the pedlar.......they seem to have pre-planned answers to what ever people say.... a real pain in deed.
Glad the fireworks went well apart from that.
Afternoon Shallot Man, i did indeed offer to pay.... it wasn't my fault no one heard...

Looks as if we are in for rain all day today, so no work going to be done over the allotment, again. i have some jobs to do in the greenhouse, so not all is lost.
Good to read you are moving forward, Robo.

Agree with OH,
a subtle but effective show of unity by Alan.

It,s a good job your new raised beds have no base Pa Snip otherwise with all this rain you would have some very nice bog gardens.
Meanwhile we are watching the grass in the lawns grow daily but they're too wet to cut. It seems that we retire the lawnmower to the garage for the winter later every year.
Does anybody use their lawn cuttings for a protective mulch this time of year or do they go on the compost heap as usual?

Primrose, With all this rain I am thinking of putting a liner in each.
