Erm.......I just cleared my patch of PFR because they slowly rot in the ground. Look what I found, would have gone nice with that carrot I unearthed last year.

I think I better find that carrot just in case this turns into a contest.

How are you supposed to start and maintain a healthy lifestyle if it completely removes a wine lover’s reason to live?

that's an interesting potato... still, better than the one I dug up last year... wish I'd kept a photo, it was massive, or more accurately, with the soil on it looked massive, it was pitted all over so by the time I'd washed the mud off, it looked more like a star than a potato... next to no flesh on it either :(

As I dug the remaining row I noticed that some had started to rot from one end and there were many carcasses of rotted potatoes with just the outer skin remaining.

Is this blight ?

PFR are lovely tasting though I managed to buy Anya from a local market gardener and they tasted much the same.

Same problem, as a "Billy-no-mates" I don't eat them fast enough to warrant growing them and once again I'm planning to grow more flowers and a little salad stuff next year. I'll probably put more effort into herbs also.

Kale is a good crop for me, it just grows and needs little input as long as it's netted with enviromesh for most of the season, another good reason to grow kale for me is that I can't easily buy it fresh though I noticed Aldi were stocking Cavelo Nero last week. The dwarf curly that I've been growing is easier to grow and that second flush of growth is amazing.

I'm still undecided of sowing garlic this autumn and it's getting close to being too late. I still have the white rot problem that seemed less of a problem with the spring sown garlic and the winter winds coming off the sea really knock the foliage about.
