Its Show Day
Only our small local Horticultural and Craft show at local community centre. Benching starts 08:30. Judging 10:15am to 2:30pm
I entered 17 classes but won't be benching in 4 of those after all, produce either failed to be ready or I ran out of time to make jams..
Ma Snip has entered 9
All a bit of fun and just showing support for a local event that has been subject to reduced entry numbers in recent years

More power to your fork and spade Pa & Ma Snip. Hope you get some good results. It's been a difficult growing year for produce and you've had some difficult personal issues to contend with as well. Let 's hope you come up with some good results.

Our Association show is struggling these days.
If it wasn't for our resident expert snd past National Allotment Competition winner we'd have no standard to aim for.

Our village show was last Saturday and what a grand show it was, too. The entries were up - the whole large village hall filled to capacity with vegetables, flowers, fruit, jams, preserves, baking, handicrafts, eggs and last, but my no means least and the most colourful, the children's entries like animals made out of vegetables, phantasy gardens on a dinner plate, decorated eggs, a rocket made from scrap ....
I didn't win any trophies this year but got a few scattered prizes, including first prize in the "vegetable oddity" class for a wonderfully misshapen sweet pepper! It was good to see many new faces too and the trophies going to new competitors rather than the 'old hands'.

************** (expletive) touch screen PC's !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Spent over an hour this morning doing a write up of Saturdays show and yesterdays visit to another local villages show. Had Edited the pics ready.
Was doing it all as a new topic on here.
>
Having done the write up I was just uploading the last picture and about to press 'submit' when a *friggin* fly landed on the touch screen and diverted it to the RHS site.
Of course when I got back to the reply text box it was empty. My work was lost.
GRRRRRRRRRRR where's me fly spray, bring back 'Flit' and the bicycle pump type spray can

Bad luck Pa Snip. That's nearly as bad as dropping your mobile hone down the loo, which I understand is a fairly common insurance claim these days.

Hi Peter
You read my mind. After posting my last comment I decided using word, copy and paste would be the way forward for some posts.
However a colleague has since advised me on how to turn off the touch screen so I have now outflitted (sic) the flies
