Anybody visiting Blenheim Palace Garden Show this Saturday (20th June)
Mrs Snip usually attends with some work colleagues, however this year they have to work so I am being roped in to accompany her.
Contact me if planning on going and fancy meeting for a tea, coffee or drink and natter.

What an enjoyable show this was.
Now in its third year and held within the grounds of Blenheim Palace, parking was easy and the location scenic.
As the title of the event is actually Blenheim Palace Flower Show I guess I should not have been surprised by the lack of kitchen garden vegetable plants. There was no retailers of either vegetable plants or equipment and although I enjoyed the show for me that was a disappointment
Bigger well known commercial names in the garden industry have not yet decided to attend this show it seems, but I am sure they will pick up on it in the future.
Currently not a show to make a special journey for over mega distance but this show could be one to watch out for in the future. At the moment apart from the 'proper' floral related exhibitors there is also a lot of what I call "twee" stuff like repro vintage bits and pieces and floral ladies dresses at gross prices. Having said that we spent four hours there and could have spent longer as the ticket price does include admission to Blenheim Park and grounds, admission to house is extra. I was just losing energy.
I took about a hundred pictures but they are virtually all floral, with the exception of things like a classic vintage Ice Cream Van (which gets my vote on two counts
)
The setting the show is held in reminds me of Hampton Court Flower Show in its early days.
Talking of Hampton Court Flower Show, Mrs Snip and I attending on Sunday 5th July

Thank you for your useful report pa Snip. It's always interesting to get feedback on these events. I haven't been to the Hampton Court Flower Show for several years now. My husband is not really a gardener, and trying to persuade him to spend a day walking round the exhibits is rather like trying to persuade the average woman to spend a day at an exhibition of Football memorabilia ! (Well, not quite!) Maybe I will have another attempt to persuade him this year. If the weather is fine it's certainly an enjoyable day out (for gardeners anyway!)
