Please help - tomato mix up

I've currently got two sets of seedling tomato plants waiting movement to grow bags - Ailsa Craig and a yellow 'bush' variety suitable for some basket/container growing. I did have them in two separate places but - due to my own inadvertant daftness - I've put them together and now ... well, you can guess the rest. Given that I should pick off the side shoots of the Ailsa but not the 'bush' variety' any suggestions as to how best to proceed and identify my varieties before fruiting or am I stuck? any suggestions VERY gratefully received.

I've just taken a couple of photos of my Ailsa Craig for you. Hopefully the leaves may be slightly different. My Gartenperles spikes are more rounded than these which is how I can tell the difference but I've no idea about your yellow bush one. Hope the photos help anyway.

The only thing I can suggest is that you grow the plants on in say 4" or 6" pots with some soluble feeding if necessary. Their different growth habits should become obvious after a several weeks then you can plant them out accordingly.

I've just had a look at my seedlings too, I'm growing Alberta Girl, Variegated, and Sweet Olive which are bush types, the only clue I can offer is that the spaces between the sets of leaves branching off look a bit closer together on these varieties than the cordon types. Hope that may help!

Thank you so much for the replies - especially the photos Streps! - incidentally the yellow bush variety is 'Balconi Yellow'. I will follow the advice to grow on in larger pots and keep an eye open for differing growth patherns, especially closer leaf sets; fingers crossed and thank you once again!

I am currently trying to distinguish between some of my pumpkins and my corgettes. My husband just sighs and says "I told you so". But honestly at the time they were all seperated. Anyway, easily done. You're not on your own.

Yes, I'm afraid I'm as guilty as sin too....

Every year I religiously segregate the different Tommies, Aubs, Peppers, Squishes and Courgettes.... THIS YEAR I honestly thought I'd done myself proud, but no, I've got a '?' again....

It is true though - let the plant 'develop' a bit more and you should be able to determine it's variety by the very nature of its growth habit.
I've got 5 or 6 of each tomato variety in my 'grown-up-girl's greenhouse' and you can DEFINITELY tell the difference between each variety now.
Their leaf colours/shapes and general growth habits are NOTABLY different (I've got 5 different ones).

I looked at my 'orchard' at the weekend...17 trees planted from stock bought at Aldi last year. ALL of the labels had either come off or were unreadable.

I know I had cox's orange pippins, elstar, bramleys, Lord Derby (Kwiksave not Aldi), Opal and Victoria plums. Now I can tell the difference between the apples and plums, also the Eaters and cooker (they are on different rows) but which eaters are which is beyond me...and they are starting to flower, so I may well get a few fruits off this year.

I should have made a plan of the orchard at planting time.
