Every autumn I have this debate with myself. Is anybody else as foolishly sentimental about their plants as I am?

Why is it when I am now sick to death of courgettes and my plants are drooping from mildew that I find myself psychologically incapable of yanking them out for the compost heap when I spot a few baby fruits still valliantly growing?

Yes...me!!
I'm the same with the runner beans....even though I'm sick of the sight of them, and they are looking really tatty, I always feel mean cutting them down and dismantling the A Frame support.
It must be something to do with how we have grown them from seed and nurtured them....

Same here, feel cruel chucking them out when they are still producing even though they look a mess and I really don't want any more courgettes.
I have been ruthless though and chucked all the outdoor ones on the compost heap. I have saved one that I grew in the corner of the greenhouse that hasn't got mildew yet.
