Thanks for that....I will try to remember to watch/record that.

I have a bee in my bonnet about supporting British Farmers. I've stopped buying meat from Asda now, because most of it is from other countries and I find it extremely annoying. When I asked why, it was the usual guff regarding cost. He sort of looked at me blankly when I suggested they may well be putting some British farmers out of business.

I suspect we consumers are partly to blame for the products we get sold in supermarkets. Because if every time we had an issue like lthis we should make a point of ferreting out the supermarket manager and raising our issues personally . If enough people consistently did this, some may start to try and implement change , or at least pass the feedback upwards. . But if everybody else is like me yiu just want to be in and out of the supermarket as quickly as possible. However, our main supermarket is Waitrose and if we do have issues, we take the trouble to raise them on their website. They do ,isten. A while back we had issues withnthe very small tear they had on their plastic milkbottles which was too short to pull off . . We complained and they said they would listen. A few weeks later a much better " tear and pull" inner lid was in place.

I hate the thought of diary farmers losing their livelihoods for the sake of a few pence on a container of milk. I would much rather pay the extra and keep them in business. Nobody benefits from this kind of margin squeezing in the end. The heartbreak of a farmer watching his herd being loaded onto truck for last time, and facing an empty cattle shed is not worthnoaying just for s lint of. Ilk that is two pence cheaper in a rival supermarket. It's a typical stance of some businesses knowing the cost of everything and the value of nothing.

I agree Primrose. We're not wealthy by any standards but I would rather pay a bit more to have British stuff, be it produce or meat. I do understand that a lot of families are on extremely tight budgets, so obviously, will buy as cheaply as they can but stuff from the EU countries just defeats everything.

The meat I tried...pork...had no taste in it. If I had been blindfolded, I wouldn't have known what I was eating. It's not all that long ago, Asda were proud to support British farmers. I wonder what happened to that then?

Back to Morrisons...their meat is British.

Maybe doing away with the Milk marketing board was not such a good idea after all. Not that I had any say in it.
