Did any of my neighbours across the Humber see the Vulcan Bomber and two Lancasters today??
I've just watched them on Look North and got goosebumps. What a sight.

I have heard the two Lancasters in the distance a few times as they have run as far East as East Kirkby a couple of times. I suppose I could have booked some hours off and gone to see them in fact my immediate boss did ask if I was going up the road to the tall castle on the CWHM Lancs arrival day.

Strangely I just like to be in the right place at the right time and just get lucky to see something fly over rather than fight with traffic jams etc to go and see. Like yesterday, Red Arrows Hawk very purposely heading for Scampton over my works location early on in perfect blue sky...and later in the day the 9 Red Arrows routing for Cromer as a full formation returning a while later as two formations.

This video link of the event today has been posted up this evening.

Wow! Thanks for that link Clive....wonderful.

I don't quite know why these aircraft evoke such emotions in me, as I was born well after WW2 ended...but they do. The hairs on the back of my neck raise when I hear and see the BBMF and the Vulcan just fills me with awe every time.

I used to take my son to airshows when he was a lad and I just fell in love with the BBMF and Vulcan....and the Reds too.
My son joined the R.A.F at 21 and now "flies" Military trucks...he only has 18 months to serve now.

I love it too when I see something going over unexpectedly. The BBMF flew over our allotments when they did a flypast for the centenary of something or other in Hull recently....I was out of the greenhouse like a shot when I heard them, jumping up and down waving madly. My neighbour thought I'd finally gone potty!

Bournemouth Air Show next weekend & I'm right under the flight path & see quite a lot of them coming over & as they have just taken off from Hurn Airport are still quite low so get an excellent close up. Being at lottie is even better as being open near fields you don't loose them under the neighbours houses eaves as is only about 1/2 mile or so away.

Hoping for fine weather - double bonus if can garden as well!

Had fantastic amount of planes coming over today, even one doing a corkscrew type display.....they all seemed to be arriving from a North Easterly direction.

Heard Merlin engines in the distance again today...but the Lancasters remained out of my sight........

Then just up to 5pm when I was mowing the squares in the kitchen garden I was suddenly aware of jet noise..out to the West heading North...again didn't see them but I suspect Red Arrows routing for flypast at former RAF Strubby.

So sum total of spotting was one flexwing microlight and one Piper PA28

Speaking of man-made things flying in the air: a few years ago we saw lots of microlights and hot air balloons here, especially over the weekends (a hot air balloon once landed in the nature reserve bang in front of our house), but the last two or three years we have not seen a single one. Have the regulations been tightened, has it become too expensive or what?

Thanks Clive! I've not heard any aircraft this weekend, apart from the Police helicopter.

Monika...Come to think of it, I can't remember the last time I saw Hot Air Balloons near here...we used to see them coming over regularly.

Thanks for that Clive. :D :D :D
What a magnificent aircraft! I wish I had been able to see both of them together but at least I saw them via the TV and videos. Lovely.
