...or maybe just bloody lucky!
This is Gwenfrewi, one of my three-year-old Bluebelles. On Monday evening she was grabbed from the flock by a large dog fox (a mercifully very rare visitor in these parts). I was alerted by the fuss all the other birds were making and shifted the fox by bawling across the field a couple of F words - only the second of which was FOX

He dropped her and she ran away. She must have put up quite a fight judging by the feathers she lost and the skin torn off her thigh. Since then she has been caged by herself and amazingly has laid an egg every day since. I am hoping she remains as fit as she has been for four days and that the wound heals.
