Glad your greenhouse stayed up and the damage was reasonably slight, Geoff. I don't think the wind was as strong as we have had in the past. In spring 1983, lots of buildings in our village lost roofs or, at least, tiles and several trees came down, whereas yesterday just caused some minor damage, it appears.
Part of our bean frame succumbed on the allotment, but it had been a bit iffy for some time. The house, allotment and home sheds are still standing ... as yet.

I'll be off to check the damage caused by Friday night's storm today. I was driving from London to Salisbury in that, it was simply the most terrifying journey of my life!
Sorry to hear about your greenhouse dd. maybe there will be one on eBay or free cycle to replace it?

I've been out having a good tidy up, and it really is most pleasant out there.
Infact, i nearly started off a, "Very early Spring Bits and Bobs", but i knew i would never hear the last of it, when it starts snowing.
It does make you want to get up and go, though...

I got up and went too, fixed the roofing felt on my shed which blew off. and chopped up the old sprout stalks while still paddling around in 6 inches of water. But my little front garden borders are a mass of purple crocus, daffys and polyanthus, so Spring has sprung.
Beryl.
Beryl.
The damage on our sweet pea/bean frame on the allotment was worse than we first thought: three of the five 8' posts had sheared off at soil level, so we had to dismantle the whole lot today (decent weather at least!) and will have to re-think the remainder. No longer having a Landrover will pose a problem for getting some new, long posts - our little Yaris can just about take 6' posts.
But, compared to other people's storm and flood problems, ours is but a little one and can be overcome!
Fairly good weather forecast for the week and, as Beryl, says, there are signs of spring in our garden too, including some lovely, very pale blue irises!
