Just come in from digging. When the weather has been fit enough I have been progressing the garden at home here . Had to lift a few Potatoes first that I hadn't got up. ..quite a lot were whistlers.. but will have to sort through them.
Took up a row of Wallflowers...that hadn't quite made it to the garden at work. they have now...at last ...and so have dug a bit more this afternoon 'til it got dark...

Using a mid 1980s Bulldog spade this year. It had been sat in our garage for quite a while  awaiting a new handle being fitted....so with that sorted a few days ago I can give it a shining up again. :)

Glad I'm not having to clear all that mud off your Wellington boots ! But it must have felt satisfying to get it dug . Hopefully any frost will break up the clods although all we seem to get at the moment is heavy rain.

Very pleased to see the KG Forum is back in the magazine, page 90 of the feb issue, so thank you Steve.

It would be nice if we got a few new members from the "Grow it" link, too.

And i will try and be slightly better behaved in the New Year, although i can't promise such a thing.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

Please don't try too hard OH, who of us could ever forget the picture of you in your socks... :D

Cold and frosty start to the day down here on the island, I'll let the sun get up a bit more before I start moving the next cut down hawthorn tree. About halfway up the line now. Get the household jobs out of the way first though.

What's everyone up to today?

Try to get a bit of clearing done and clean out the hen/duck houses while it's fine. Yesterday and today seem to be the calm after the storm and before the next one.

No damage on Boxing Day night, though to the north of us trees were down on many roads and we had the strongest gust recorded - 109 MPH, fortunately (for us) 20 miles west down the end of the peninsula. Aberdaron is still without power, I think.

If i didn't live so far away, i would liked to have popped round to Alans, for a cup of tea and a chat. Infact, anyone who would have me round, would be nice.... :)

White frosty this morning...not quite enough to be able to walk across my digging though...

Frames were patterned...not the best pattern ever but fairly frosty..

Looks like a putty knife and a tin of cuprinol green will be required soon.......Built by my Dad in the 1980s. We have an earlier 4 glass section one that is looking a bit more tired. Beyond this frame his old 1969 built greenhouse is starting to look a bit sad. :( Glass slipping etc, etc.... I look at it every day and want to get it sorted..but I realise it is going to beat me I'm afraid.

Very frosty here this morning, after raining most of the night. It made the side roads interesting :) to walk on.

Had a long walk along the beach. The tide was just out, and bright sunshine. Lovely :D

I'm just about to put the kettle on OH, so get on your way
Cheers PJ.

I'm just off down the greenhouse. I won't be long...........

Dear Donedigging, thank you for the early morning smile. :)

Sounds rather rough out there this morning, so will not be up the ladders again today.
