I notice that the KG advertises a new Subscribers' Club which, I assume, editors hope will take over from the KG Forum. It's a shame because I am never likely to become a subscriber in spite of having bought and read the magazine for many years, We have ours on order from the village shop which relies on as much newspaper/magazine trade as possible in order to survive and stay open!
Was the complete absence of any mention of the Forum in the magazine the last few months a ploy to put it to sleep?

I couldn't imagine not having this forum to go onto each day. I suppose i would join another one, if we all joined together.....
Hopefully it won't come to that.

I suspect the Subscribers Club is merely a carrot to attract more regular/occasional buyers to take out subscriptions. I can't imagine it as an alternative forum. The Facebook page is pretty useless as well. https://www.facebook.com/KitchenGardenMag
It's just a great pity that this forum is fading away.

You are right, Peter, but perhaps we should also urge the magazine editor to mention the forum in the magazine. Other gardening magazines with a forums (yes, I do read others as well) all have a slot for their forum, so why did KG just stop it a few months ago? Unless a reader goes on this website in any case, he/she would have no idea that there is such forum.
And, like OH, I would really miss it if it faded away.

Hi Guys
I just wanted to assure you all that there are no plans to close the forum or replace it with the Subscribers' Club. For those of you who are not familiar with the club, it is purely intended to offer those who subscribe additional content and offers. There is no facility to contact other readers etc via its pages and so it is no replacement for the forum as a means of communicating with other readers.
I've also taken your comments on board about mentioning the forum more often in the magazine (the website address is already on every page so hopefully readers do make their way here via that route) and we will do our best to put that right as I would agree that other pressures for space and time have led me to neglect you guys of late.
I do hope that serves to reassure you that the forum remains a much valued part of the Kitchen Garden magazine community.

Afternoon Captain Carrot, well that is a strange old thing, you putting a post on the forum today. Over the last couple of days, i have been thinking about sending you a P.M about this subject, and today, i have been going through in my head how i was going to word it. So now, that has saved me the job.
I am pleased to read your news on the forum, i'm sure it will please all the forum members, new and old, so thank you.
I do miss not seeing posts from yourself, and also Lady L, let's hope things ease up a little for you, work wise.
Not sure if i'm allowed to do this but, please give Lady L a big hug from me.

Well if we see you sporting a black-eye in the next issue of the KG magazine, we will know the hug wasn't well received.
