Molly looks a little treasure with a hint of pickle thrown in for good measure!

She's been helping me re-glaze two windows today by eating the old putty I cut out and she loves to lick emulsion paint if i'm deorating.

She eats just about anything and never stops trying for more food, she's slim and muscular presumably because she gets plenty of exercise and just the right amount of food plus a bit of putty, cow-poo, sheep do-doos, all sorts of greenery and she's copraphagic.

She's very good indoors but spends most of the day eating something and evacuating something, she once eat a disposable rubber glove that I had 'pinged' off my hand. It came out the other end then she eat it again. :(

Not a very 'nice' lady but very cute.

Dear all, i would just like to apologize for my complete lack of posts just lately. I just seem to have been so busy this year, the forum has had to take the back seat a little.

But on the bright side, some people might be pleased. :)
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

I grew Tendergreen and thought they tasted great. Very pretty lilac flowers too.

Borlotti and CFB's cleared and now in toolshed and greenhouse respectively to dry.
weeded where they'd been, the gap (failed to grow on squash) to the leeks, the whole 148 leek bed and the gap 4' to the squash . The leeks were getting submerged in the late flush of weeds, about 3-4 rod of trowel and hand weeding.
Dug a double steamer of cylindrical beetroot, quite impressed with these, they rise out of the unthinned row at an angle to each other.

Sat out first shower in shed, soil still dry which surprised me, sow thistles were all soggy though. Second heavier shower tried to get in the shed with me and left the soil sticky, so tidied up and left to bottle beetroot.

Been busy building a hay store and tack-room, over the weekend. Started with a lorry load of timber and sheeting, and now have a very nice 12 foot by 6 foot building built, including making the door.

So i'm rather pleased. :)

Lovely early autumn day today and so was yesterday after a rather wet and windy one on Friday.
We had our Village Show yesterday, always a joyous occasion but involving a lot of work for all the organisers. I was on my feet from 6.30 yesterday morning until 8pm in the evening - shattered! But I did gather quite a few prizes, including getting second most points and receiving a money voucher for Twinlocks Nurseries in Gargrave which will come in very useful when I buy all the pansies and violas for the spring bedding shortly. My best looking entry were two leeks (variety Oarsman) which attracted a number of comments.
And I spent this morning using all the vegetables in soups, stews and freezing them. It's amazing how many beans (runner, dwarf and broad) one has to pick before finding six which match perfectly! My runner beans didn't stand a chance against the many other entries but I got a first for the dwarf beans (Primavera) and broad beans (Giant Exhibition Longpod).

Hi Monika,

Well done :) not at all jealous of your achievements :( have to say that I do so miss all the excitement of preparing all vegetables/flowers for showing :( also i loved the banter between growers which I have to say was only bragging big time :D but it took me a while to understand that it was all good fun

Kind Regards

Arnie
