We had a very good first crop of calabrese and summer broccoli but the second crop, the sideshoots, which we are now harvesting after the welcome rain earlier this week, are absolutely riddled with small white caterpillars! I usually steam all our vegetables but, wisely, I boiled them in water and the surface was covered with little dead white bodies ..... not nice.
Hopefully I got them all out, if not, we might be eating home-grown meat and veg.

Try soaking them in salt water before you cook them next time Monika. I find most of them will float to the top.
