I bought 2 bags of seed potatoes, 1 of charlotte and the other valour. They are both on the windowsill chitting but like a wally i removed both labels and now i have no idea which is which.
Any ideas? I take it the charlottes wont grow first being earlies (they all grow at the same rate don't they?) I suppose i'll have to try digging them both up but will the charlottes be much bigger than the valour (a main crop). I know i should be able to tell by taste but home grown always brings about unexpected results and flavours. HELP!!

Evening Sarah, do the two varieties look different to each other, if they do, as Bren said, Charlotte are quite a long oval shape, and slightly bigger at one end.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.

Good evening to you both, yes looking at the two bags, one is definitely more elongated so i guess they must be the Charlottes and the rounder ones must be the Valour. Thank you

Yes - Charlotte are the long, oval, yellowish ones. I did grow Valor many years ago. Rather late variety so you need to watch out for blight.
