It's several degrees warmer here and whilst it's still cold the soil has drained very well and I have grass that has grown to the point it needs cutting, I think people might stare at me if I start cutting grass.

I'm hoping I have enough digging in me to finish this 20 metre long planting trench before the weather changes and whilst the soil is perfect.

Regarding acidity, do I need to get a soil testing kit or will one of those very convenient looking probes be good enough ?

Gorgeous day yesterday - got up to 8 degrees :o !!!!

Today we have a frost but the outside temp' is already at 2.4 degrees, so hopefully another warmish day on the cards. At least the sun is shining :)

Today's the 12th  successive dry day. Warm sunshine all day. Yesterday got the propagators up and running and tomorrow plan to sow tomatoes, chillies, peppers, herbs and bunching onions. Seems like the year getting into some sort of stride :)

Shush! There'll be talk of hosepipe bans if you say that sort of thing too loudly

Oh-yes.

And another 3 metres of planting trench completed in this perfect weather, I am struggling with my head though. Underneath that rugged-looking avatar picture of me is a slap-head, I have a whole collection of caps, hats and beanies.

Sometimes it's difficult, you're either ice-cream-head or boiling the remains of the youthful thatch.
