It's cool and cloudy here today with cold easterly wind, so we spent all morning cutting a rather overgrown mixed hedge (mainly hawthorn, hazel, holly and blackthorn), about 60 feet long, OH on one side, me on the other. It looks much tidier now and in about 2 years' time it should be laid again by environmental studies students from the local college.

I have missed you lot all week, i have been laid up with some sort of virus, severe aches and pains in all my joints and muscles, and terrible night sweats. The ache and pains seemed to have eased a little, but still suffering frome the horrible night sweats. Left me feeling realy washed out i must admit.
But i'll soon be back to full form, that i am sure of.
Anyway, nice to just be back on here.

I don't check in every day and hadn't realised you've been missing.
I hope you are back to full health soon and trust you have visited your doctor.

Yes...familiar with the one that keeps you in the small room.
..had a dose of that one back in 2009...could only just about sip water for a week...thought something was seriously adrift..until I learnt that everyone who had attended the holiday I was just back from had got it too.... Well not everyone took it home...one of the party brought it with.......
Sorry to hear of the poorly week Old H'...I have not visited here as much as some weeks but was wondering of your whereabouts.
Hope you are soon back up to full speed.

A grey day with light flurries of snow...have just met one car, as we came back from greenhouse check at work, that had a covering of snow on the bonnet....so someone has had a bit more white by the look of it.
Had a ride out to Anwick Garden Centre this morning to get a few things for work...Onion Sets, Shallots and also got 3kg of Stemster seed Potatoes.
With that order stowed in the car boot we returned for a good browse. Got a bag of Merlin seed potatoes for home here and assorted seeds and bits
Then went on to Ruskington Garden Centre and partook of their Haddock and Chips....ended up buying 2 Primulas too.
I see it is 1.4 C currently.

Welcome back, OH, and I hope you soon feel on top of the world again!
Mainly overcast with a few sleety showers today but I did get part of the brassica bed cleared and dug - the kales have really suffered this winter, even those (Ragged Jack and Cavolo Nero) which usually stand any amount of frost and snow.
Sowed some broad beans Witkiem Manita and pea Meteor in roottrainers today in the greenhouse. They will go into the garden under cloches as soon as they germinate. Also sowed sweet pepper California wonder, chilli pepper Hot Cayenne and celeriac Monarch, all three now on the boiler to germinate.
