Just found 5 lily beetles munching away on my fritillarias (sp?). I have duly savagely squashed the little blighters. Is there no stopping them? Have sprayed with bug spray so hopefully that will help. They've never eaten the fritillarias before, only the lily plants. Do they eat everything now?

Good morning Diane, i have not seen them on fritillarias before so will be keeping a close eye out for the little varments. We had a plague of them in our village last year. A plague might be a bit of an exaggeration, but we had an awful lot.
Hope you get yours under control, don't forget to look out for there larvae, these are orange-red, but are usually covered in a slimy black stuff.

Kind regards Old Herbaceous.

Hello everybody,

We've had the dreaded lily beetles on our fritillarias for a couple of years. I've found the only control is regular "pick up & squash" trips.
