Shame that the other contestants don't have your level of self awareness.

Glanced out this afternoon, and a pair of Collared Doves were getting very friendly  on the rose arch. Is spring just around the corner :D
Cheers PJ.

I'm just off down the greenhouse. I won't be long...........

PJ, unfortunately, collared doves often start courting and nesting in winter, very similar to mistle thrushes, and spring is likely to be far, far away (though you will probably get it very much earlier than most of us!).

Heavy frost yesterday, and again this morning. Should kill some of the beasties.

Few people round here tried conspiring with the frost to kill themsalves!

A414 through Hertford and on out to Cole Green was shut by the police due to the quantity of accidents caused by ice. Anglia TV and don't you just love the idea of "Thieves Lane", sounds like Terry Pratchett wrote it....

The bit of the A414 I patronise daily, a few miles to the southeast of Hertford was almost as bad, I felt my car squirm as I drove onto some ice, then saw the skid marks, bashed central crash barrier, trail of debris going left and lots of light off the road in the marshland down by the river....

Turns out whoever had skidded on the ice had taken out at least two other vehicles and one or two of them had gone all the way offroad, down the embankment and ended up in the canalised river.
Fortunately no one seriously hurt.

That was -2C, today was -6C, not as much drama or ice though.

I would just like to say thank you to, two newish forum members that have really contributed to the forum over the last few months. They have been both funny and helpful, and injected a little bit more life into our forum. These members are, Vegpathmum and Richard, and we are very pleased to have you both as members.

Just need a few more new members now, so if there is anyone thinking of joining, but a bit nervous, please join now. :)

It's getting on for 8.30am, and its still a chilly -5 out there right now.

I couldn't help noticing that not one of the kids waiting for the school bus was wearing a stitch more than they did in the summer term. Not a hat, scarf or coat in sight. The blazers weren't even buttoned up!
Kids today must be a tough breed!
