Went to a funeral today, Stan who lived opposite my parents house, a wonderful gentle and intelligent man. He and his, now, widow, Vera had a great love of Shire horses. They had several horse-drawn ploughs as garden ornaments and many horse brasses in the house.

The family had a Shire horseshoe placed on the coffin before it was interred. :)

Sometimes the family really do know the departed - and everyone notices the gesture!
