am i going daft or did the experts forcast a cold winter with lots of snow. i see the health minister is claiming the nhs has coped well with one of the coldest winters for decades. but we have had few frosts ,not much snow amd of course little rain,
having said that some things are 2 o 3 weeks later than last year, though the lawn seems to be well away. how has the rest of the country fared?

Hello Richard p, that question is leaving yourself open to some comments, notice how well behaved i have been for a change.
The weather forecasters did predict the coldest winter for years, and over all i suppose they could be right because in previous years the winters have been quiet short and very mild. But this winter although we have not had prolonged periods of freezing, it has been colder for a lot longer, hence why everybody is running about three weeks later than the previous years. Just what a winter and spring used to be like. The trouble being where we had short winters and early srings we have got used to them.
The weather forecasters can always find ways of changing there forecast though.

Kind regards Old Herbaceous.

We will always get some sort of weather.

I have got to agree with Old Herbaceous. These winters are nothing like I remember and it feels like it is now dark for six months of the year ,not a thing I could get used to .
weather men never get it right for us .

Where we live in the cold and wet North West I can say that this winter has been the coldest we have had for a long, long time. Even with the heater on in the greenhouse the temperatures still dropped to minus. The weather forecasters got it right for us.
