Re: Cauliflower
Well, I tried talking to the netting nicely and listened to Elgar's Nimrod,as recommended by FelixLeiter, all to no avail. However, reading Elaine's reply about chicken netting, I thought Aha ! this sounds verrrrry interesting. So today we went and bought a roll of the said chicken netting, cut it t...

Re: Cauliflower
Thanks for your replies. I going to have to have a rethink. In answer to your question Colin M. My caulis have been decimated, presumably by pidgeons. As this is my first try at veg growing, I'm a bit miffed to say the least. The other problem for me at least is that me and netting were definitely N...

Re: Runner beans in containers
I've just been granted permission from SWMBO to grow runners in the ground so I shan't be using the containers after all, but thanks to all who replied, it's good to know you're all out there with valuable advice.

Runner beans in containers
Hi all, I'm wanting to grow runner beans in containers against a south facing wall. I have about 6 feet of horizontal space available. I have some plastic troughs about 2 feet long and about 8 inches deep. Would these be suitable with 2 plants per trough or will they be not deep enough ? All replies...

Wolf weeder
Today I bought a small Wolf push/pull weeder. What a splendid tool this is. I can't wait for the weeds to show so that I can show then who's the boss ! Ha ha !
Has anyone any experience of the Wolf Soil Miller? I looks a fearsome device but does it do what it says on the tin ?

Grow Pots
Hi all, new fella here, first posting !
In the Two Wests and Elliot catalogue there are some thingys called 'Growpots' which are used with growbags to give better root space for tomatoes etc. Has anyone used these and if so, are they of any benefit and can they be recommended ?
Cheers, Rhubarb Stick.
