Trees in pots
Presume the trees you bought at Lidl/Morrison are of 'normal' height and not the specific bred patio type tree...wonder how they will do in pots if their roots are restricted?

Trees in pots
Would ordinairy trees grow happily in a pot do you think as well as just the fruit trees? Would I have to 'bonsai' them at some time? Will certainly put in blackcurrants, would the goosegog grow too? Trial and error me thinks.

Trees in pots
Are there any trees that I can grow in pots in my back yard ? (besides the ballerina fruit trees of which I have an apple and pear. These two were on my lottie and when we moved I put them into pots and hoped for the best. They are both now coming in to flower.)

This is not strictly a garden type question but as ants start out outside before they come in........ I was recently given a present of a small rechargeable screw driver (it's brilliant) but on Friday plugged it in to recharge in a different place..on a kitchen work top. Came home some several hours...

It is about three foot high, single woody stem with the flowering top like a ball of purple bracts. It has about three or four shoots coming off the top. So, if I keep nipping off these shoots and keep it like a ball it may well survive for a while.....still doesn't solve the problem of where to kee...

Thanks for all the advice...oh dear. Did wonder about the bathroom as it a small room, and has no central heating so a bit chilly, but the window sill is above the bath and we tend to leave the top window open each evening/night after a bath so would the steam then cold up set it? The label says tha...

My son has sent me one of these for Mothers Day...it was sititng on the doorstep in a big box in the pouring rain yesterday. Trouble is there is no real information with it except it is a 'challenging tropical climbing plant to grow in a conservatory'. As I have neither a conservatory or a green hou...

On second thoughts and discussion with husband we think we will give the r aised bed a miss as it will just be a large toilet for the cat! He has enough trouble now and has to have a big compost tray outside as most of the yards are concrete. Will stick with pots!

Now that is a good idea with the bricks..hadn't thought of that. Would they need to be mortared together like building a wall? Would I line it with newspaper / cardboard/ black plastic?

We are knocking the back wall down(it is unsafe) and a fence put up next week so was proposing to use the bricks to make a patch to stand the tubs on. Will check out the ideas for cheap feed for the tubs. Have a compost bin that is stood out the front on the small patch of soil there. It will take a...

The garden faces east, surrounded by 6foot fences. There is a very large shed too so space is at a minimum..about 12foot by 12 foot with a 6 x 6 x 6 shed in a corner. we have inherited a nice collection of spare recycling tubs and fish boxes that were already in the shed. Will need to drill holes in...

No allotments near by and we have no transport and I am not in best of health and nearly 60!...no excuse really I know. Have been following some of the links on site but most seem to be aimed at allotment growers. Are most of you on here allotment growers?

Due to circumstances beyond our control husband and I have had to move house, and now with only one minimum wage coming in and debts to pay. This house has a very small concrete back yard but have been told th...
