Hedgehogs

I sometimes catch hedgehogs in my back garden in the nets covering my fruit bushes. I aways free them and they go away. I wondered if when I catch them I could take them to my allotment to eat the slugs, would there be enough food for them to survive. The 20 pole allotment is fenced in with chicken ...

Thank you all for your advice about changing the soil in the greenhouse regularly, so I have not done it this year, but dug in plenty of manure. Am still trying to catch up with the allotment jobs but enjoy every hour I spend on it. My new 20 raised beds are a lot easier to manage, I am pleased I sp...

Greenhouse soil

I am having a job keeping up with everything on my 20 pole allotment, I change the soil in my greenhouse every year and it's real hard labour, can I use the same soil this year if I dig in some manure, or will I regret it? Would be pleased for your advice.

Hello my old Cockneycarrot, it sounds to me as if your raspberries have just got stresed with the heat and lack of rain. If you give them a good soaking and a liquid feed this might help, but i don't think you will get a very big crop this year. It would help to give them a good mulch with compost ...
