I had some free T&M purple carrot seeds this year, so I sowed them. Unfortunately, like the first sowing of my carrots, the germination was poor. However, some did germanate, and I harvested a couple for lunch. Very tasty. They had a more intense carrot tast than the ordinary ones, but were a very welcome change from the ordinary.

Yes, I got a freebie packet too. Germination was very poor due to the freak weather conditions, but have now cropped a few and the flavour is certainly mind blowing. Did carrots always originally taste like this or have we become so used to eating tastless supermarkets carrots that we've forgotten what the real ones taste like?

I tried two sowings in pots; jury is still out, germination was ok, but they don't seem to have bulked up at all! I'm just leaving them as long as I can and hoping.....
