Hi All, Need some advice please on my 4 yr old Cherry Tree, the Bark has been nibbled off , not sure by what? The area is 3inches by 1 inch , should I cover this somehow? Ax I am worried about disease like Silver leaf getting in, TIA Connie

Is it close to the ground or higher up, could be rabbits or deer but my money would be on Grey Squirrels.
Been gardening for over 65 years and still learning.

As long as it isn't ringed the tree should recover. You could paint it with one of the preparations sold for treating pruning cuts, sometimes sold as seal and heal.

Tigerburnie, it is about 6 inchrs up the Tree,
