I picked up some climbing beans at our Seedy-Sunday seed swap. Six seeds, the envelope was marked Bridgewater Climbing French Bean. The seed is a little larger than normal French bean, more the size of Borlotti - pale coffee coloured with dark brown spots. All six germinated and are growing well up a wigwam of canes. The flowers are very pale lilac/mauve and the beans are turning out to be dark purple and green mottled. They turn all green when cooked. Taste pretty good. Have any members grown this bean or know any history or perhaps variety by another name?

I live very near the town of Bridgwater (no e in our spelling of it) they are vigorous and are quite a flat bean with a black mottle on the pod, they stand on the plant longer than a runner and dont go long and stringy or get tough, I have some seed if anyone is interested send me a pm and if you send me an SAE I will post you some back
