Who's a clumsy person then?

I have been in A&E for the almost three hours tonight. I saw the weather forecast whilst making our evening meal where it said blustery winds and bad weather. So I went back up to the allotment with my OH to close the PT doors.

I have been putting two mesh shelves off our mini green houses across the doors to stop wild life walking in. I got there pulled one of the mesh off the door and not the other one, tripped over it and fell full length on to the flags on the path, bashing my right knee cap on the flags, scraping my right leg, left leg, left b**b, grazing the skin all down my left forearm and left little finger which is now very swollen and various other scrapes and scratches. I think tomorrow I am going to really regret going to close those doors.

I saw the doctor for about five minutes and he checked everything and he asked me if I wanted an xray on my little finger and left hand, bearing in mind he did not think I had broken anything. Then he said that I would have to keep taking painkillers for the next 10 days.

I am so lucky not to have broken anything. I am going to be black and blue tomorrow. I will have to be more careful in future.

Dear Catherine, these things happen so quickly, and it always seems to be if one is in a rush.

Anyway, i hope you are not suffering too much this morning, especially as you seemed to bang, scrape or knock nearly all of your tender bits. :)

Thank you. I am very sore today, I bought some arnica cream today so I am hoping that it will take the awful bruising away. But as you get older  falling is very painful on many other joints other than the ones you bruise or cut.

Never mind I am sure I will be fine very soon. Thanks for your comments. :)

I hope you heal quickly Catherine...I had a similar fall last July...on the allotment and also on on the path, landing on my left knee and having almost identical other scrapes you mentioned. It was so painful, I couldn't even bear my jeans touching it...I had to buy some soft sweatshirt-material type trousers.

Fortunately, it wasn't broken. Over the next three months, the bruising crept right down my shin and the swelling took a long time to subside. It was a good six months before the pain eased and a year later, it is still uncomfortable to kneel on that knee!
Cheers.
