Hi NB,
As a triumph for the grower I must congratulate him (them) but I fail to see any practical application being applied in a persons garden so am rather mused as to why it finds its way into a RHS Flower Show.

Yes, I posted it because it is so unusual, however fungi do have a lot of relevance for plant growth, the exception being brassicas, apparently they do not form a symbiotic relationship with fungi, but many other plants benefit from symbiosis both nutritionally and getting more access to water when sharing their finer and more extensive root system, and the fungi benefit from the plants too. Paul Stamets is very interesting and entertaining on this subject.
