Broad beans not set

Whereas our broad beans in the sheltered vegetable patch at home have set nicely and we have just started using them, the very healthy looking plants on the allotment are almost all blind, particularly the lower (and therefore early) trusses. I suspect it was the cold winds earlier which reduced the insect numbers, but it's rather sad because we usually freeze a large amount which last us through into the next year.

The peas, by the way, are doing fine and are all setting.

We have lots of insect-attracting plants on the allotment like poached flower, perennial wallflowers, wild marjoram, foxgloves et al but are surrounded by pasture and meadow land.

Aquadulce often do this if it turns hot, most annoying when they have had lots of flowers.
