My tomato plants (Alicante) in greenhouse border seemed to be doing OK, but now one, with several maturing fruit, is looking very sickly. Not yellowing, just drooping. I wondered if it was ants in the roots, so I've mixed up a jug of semi-dissolved "Ant Doom" powder, made two 6" deep holes with a broom handle either side of plant and poured it in. Kill or cure?
If it IS ants has anyone got a cure, short of excavating out and replacing soil?

It is normally just the weight of the developing fruit. Cheers, Tony.

Did you check the advice, what is in the ant powder? I'm wondering if it might be taken up by the plant when you water it, hope it only kills the ants!

You set me thinking if I did have an ant problem how would I deal with it organically? I found this comprehensive and useful link, many of the things used are to be found in our kitchen cupboards! So if ant doom doesn't work some of these things are good for the garden and none are harmful.
