From the allotment today:
Raspberries, 4lbs.
Strawberries, a punnet.
Redcurrents, about 1 1/2lbs.
Blackcurrents, about 1lb.
Gooseberries, over half a carrier bagful.

Family don't like Gooseberries, so most went to our elderly, jam making, neighbour across the road, as did most of the currents. I've got a Summer Pudding in the fridge and a Gooseberry Fool in my guts. :)

1 Redcurrent & 1 Gooseberry stripped, 1 & 2 respectively untouched, 1 Blackcurrent lightly thinned.

Can't understand why my family don't like Gooseberry Fool, to me it's one of the perfect combinations of sweet and sharp, complimenting each other. :)

Enjoying the strawberries and raspberries in our garden too, the red and blackcurrants are nearly ripe, and I think i shall try making a jostaberry fool as the jostaberry bush is huge and absolutely laden with berries. It all comes at once .... the loganberries are beginning to ripen too.
