I enjoyed that in the paper at the weekend - they are responsible for some good varieties.

Dear All,
I have grown gladiator parsnips for years but I was never really sure how they managed to breed them as they have such tiny flowers. Partially sterile parents - never thought of that one.
Perhaps we have the idea here for some in depth articles on vegetable history and breeding. One a month should keep us going for several years.

I enjoyed reading that and feel favourably inclined towards Tozer Seeds. Last year I emailed them and a number of other seed companies trying to identify some spectacular varieties of red lettuces I'd spotted growing on a visit to an NGS Garden Open Day.

They were the only company to reply to me, and not only that, they sent me some seeds of every red lettuce variety they sell to try out. I've got some growing in the garden now and will definitely be going back to them when I need more seeds.
