It's a bit on and off, but at least this has been the case for most of the past few hours. I hope it will carry on for a few more.

Afternoon Stephen, we had one good sharp shower, but it has already dried up.

We had a short but heavy shower but I guess we need a lot more to make a real difference.

Soil in the bed around the greenhouse still wet at 06:10 and an aluminium basin.on top of my pot shed under a mature hazel had 1/2" of water in it.

Still nothing much here - just spits and spots - we want some of the good stuff

Been chucking it down for days here.

It's been raining here for days, its raining now and some really heavy showers. Both my waterbutts are full to over flowing and I have given up waiting for it to stop so I can weed and plant so its full water proofs for me. and we have got more forecasted for all this weekend.

I quite like the wet look.

Wish we could have some of your rain Catherine, had the odd shower, but it hasn't gone in the ground at all.

There's wet and WET OH I will gift you this weather with pleasure. My paths are flooded even though we have drainage in. The showers are very heavy I think all the wet weather is in the North West at the moment.

Never mind I have just heard that they are having SNOW on high ground in Scotland.

It's raining here in North Wilt's, that fine drizzly penetrating rain, hope it carries on for the whole day. Cheers, Tony.

I am sorry to hear that in Yorks and Lancs you have had too much rain - wouldn't it be nice for all of us if it was spread around better!

It also strikes me as extraordinary that despite the weeks and weeks of dry weather that come the first Test match, there are rain interuptions one every day!

Down here on the Romney Marsh desert, all we seem to get are just a few spots of rain and then the sun comes out again

We had a bit of a shower the other day, but that hardly wetted the surface. It's usually windy here as well, which dries out the soil even more.

Just been showered off the allotment.

We have now had a couple of hours of steady rain, i'm sure you can hear the plants sighing with relief.

It's been raining here, too, and, at last, the strong wind has dropped. The forecast for tomorrow is dry, possibly sunny and not too windy, so the planting plan for tomorrow:
climbing French beans Cobra, runner beans Enorma, dwarf beans The Prince, leeks Musselburgh and Lyon 2 Prizetaker, cosmos, cutting asters, tagetes and a few more peas Cavalier (hoping they will crop at the time of the village show early September). So, it will be thermos and sarnies for lunch on the allotment!
