I'm unable to obtain the "real" stuff, and tend to rely on the bags of composted manure which can be bought in garden centres.

This spring I've used it quite generously and now some of my seedlings have been planted, I'm wondering exactly what goes into it, as some perfectly healthy seedlings, notably courgettes and cucumbers which have been planted in the soil into which this composted manure has been dug, are looking rather sickly and yellowing. Should I be blaming the manure?

I use it every year for the greenhouse borders and always get loads of nettle seedlings but otherwise it seems OK.
