A friend has just started gardening and has lots of questions.

Her first attempt at beans last year threw up the first notable one:-Q "Should I dead head (she'd been reading a gardening mag.) them when they've flowered? A "Not if you want any beans"

The latest when looking at my peach tree, is: Q "What are those funny green lumps?" Thinking she had noticed the peach leaf curl on some of the leaves I started explaining about it, but she said "No on the twigs"
A "Oh you mean the peaches!!!"

I know there is so much to learn when you start and I'm being encouraging and not laughing at her questions, but she said the other day that she knows by the length of my pause before answering whether she's asked something daft or not.

I too get asked some funny old questions, but it just shows how far i have come on a enjoyable gardening life.
But the best bit is, there is always so much more to learn and experience.

So i'm always so pleased for people that have just joined a lifetime gardening adventure.
Kind Regards, Old Herbaceous.
