Rhubarb crown rot

My rhubarb, after starting out well with a couple of half decent stalks, is throwing out really spindly shoots and not doing well at all. It's in a tub of compost which has a resevoir for water in the bottom.
Is this crown rot?
The couple of stalks I did harvest, were odd inside, sort of spongy so I didn't eat them.

Our rhubarb is the same now, Myrkk, though I think it's a case of not enough water.
The variety is Timperley Early and we have been picking stalks since early spring, but now some stems are distinctly floppy, very thin and hollow. I know you say you have a reservoir of water, but could it be lack of moisture?

Don't know Monika. It started to look this this half way through the April dry spell so could be. I did start watering it every day but hasn't made any difference. Think I will leave it a bit and see if it recovers. We had enough rain here Mon/Tues to ensure a whole garden of rhubarb was watered so fingers crossed it helps.
