moving a shrub?

Sorry this is slightly off topic....
I have a Choisya ternata (aztec pearl) that I planted about 12 or so years ago. It was a house warming gift from my mum. Back then I had no idea about shrubs (just fruit & veg :)) and just plonked it in. It is now massive (I do prune it every year) and is right at the front of the border.
My question is.....can I get away with moving it do you think? I just want to put it at the back of the border. It always puts on a magnificent display at this time of year, and for sentimental reasons, I don't want to just dig it up and bin it.

Take cuttings now and when they're established in pots with a good root system, hack the original down hard, dig up the rootball and replant where you want it. Probably best done in the late Autumn when it won't dry out, but you'll need to frost protect the tender new growth.

Choysia Ternatta..the mexican orange tree...usually very poor root system so be carefull if you move it , water the shrub and water the new planting area well before replanting ..or semi ripe/soft wood cuttings to propagate .

thankyou both! I will do all of the above.....new shoots are growing fast, so plenty to take cuttings from :)
