Rain at last

Although I know that it can be a problem in some areas (particularly the South east), a lack of rain has never really been a problem in the North of Scotland but the last 6 weeks has seen the soil become dry and dusty - unbelievable for us at this time of year. What a relief to hear the torrential rain through the night. The soil is so warm that everything will take off now (including the weeds)! Looking forward to watching the growth spurt next week!

Morning Haggis, we did get the shortest of showers last night, but hoping for some decent rain over the next two days.
As you say, the soil is very dry now.
Nice to see you on-line so early in the morning.

We had a decent shower about 6 am, but the sun is shining again now.
Hopefully we will get a bit more this weekend

Enough overnight to tempt me to plant Sprouts, promised thundery showers to settle them in.

6 weeks without rain in Lincolnshire - we got some Sunday morning, but by 10am the sun was out again - and forecast points to us not really getting any again this week.
Certainly is nice weather, but we defiantly need a few days of rain!
